Hugo’s Dubai Chocolate Bar 470g

At 470g this is the largest Dubai-style bar we carry — more than twice the size of the standard 200g block. It is built for a table rather than a pocket: a slab you put out at a party, take to a family dinner, or give as a single substantial gift instead of a box of smaller bars.

What the style means

Dubai chocolate is a three-layer build: a thick chocolate shell, a wide band of pistachio cream, and toasted kataifi — the fine shredded pastry used in knafeh — worked through the filling so every piece crackles. The crunch is the signature of the style, and the reason it travelled so far so fast.

Why the big format

The larger the slab, the better the ratio works. A 470g bar carries a deeper filling layer than a standard bar, so the pistachio and kataifi come through in every piece rather than only in the centre. It also breaks into far more serves, which is what makes it the sensible choice when you are feeding a room rather than yourself.
