The Dubaco bar is Beyoglu’s take on the Dubai chocolate style that spread out of the Middle East and across social feeds, and it is the bar Australians reorder most often from our Dubai range. At 200g it is a sharing block rather than a single serve — enough to put in the middle of a table, or to wrap as a gift that will actually be recognised.

What the style means

A Dubai chocolate bar is built in three layers: a thick chocolate shell, a generous band of pistachio cream, and toasted kataifi — the fine shredded pastry used in knafeh — running through the filling to give it crunch. That crunch is the whole point of the style, and it is what separates a proper Dubai bar from an ordinary pistachio chocolate.

Eating it

Snap it rather than bite it. The shell breaks cleanly, the pistachio cream is soft and rich, and the kataifi gives way with an audible crackle. It is a dessert-weight chocolate, so a couple of pieces go further than you expect — which is part of why the 200g format lasts.
